Slough Church Plant

Three Empty Chairs

Empty ChairAs a church plant we are currently weighing up what our next move should be … what step of faith we should take over the coming months to create space for God to add others to us and strengthen our core.

Yesterday, we set aside time to fast and pray about this, so last night we gathered together to call out to God. (At present, there are 8 of us, i.e. adults, gathering together most Wednesday evenings with 15 or more of us, i.e. adults and children, getting together every other Sunday afternoon.) We had a great time last night and I reached the end of the evening encouraged by our time together.

One of the things we did last night was set out 3 more chairs than we usually do … that is space for 3 more people to join us in what we believe God has called us to here in Slough. We would dearly love to begin to get some idea over the next couple of months or so of who might eventually occupy those chairs. So last night we called out to God to fill each chair!

I guess the question we now want to throw out is … could one of those chairs be filled by you? If you think the answer might be yes, we not only want you to know that there is space for you here, there is also room to explore. Here are some ways in which you could begin to do this:

  • Consider joining us for our next social. Every third Sunday that we get together, i.e once every 6 weeks, we simply have a social. So on Sunday 12th May we are popping across the M4 to Windsor to play crazy golf and, weather permitting, have a picnic. We will be meeting at Alexandra Gardens on Barry Avenue in Windsor around 4pm. The postcode is SL4 5HZ.
  • Consider coming to Westpoint with us over the bank holiday weekend at the end of August. If you don’t know what Westpoint is, you can find out more here. And if paying the booking in fee is an issue, this may be something that we are able to help with … so please don’t be put off by the cost.
  • Grab a coffee or come round for a meal with Ruth and myself – you can get in touch with us via the contact page on this blog.
